The shaft of the whip is very durable and made from quality leather. It has good ergonomics and fits will in my hand. The only downfall of the whip is the drop and popper (whiplash). After a long three day weekend the drop was severely frayed and attached only by a strand. I changed it out with a piece of paracord and have not had a problem since.
