Myth:
A muzzle is a muzzle; they’re all the same.

Fact:
There are two main types of muzzle, basket and occlusion. Every responsible handler should choose a muzzle according to intended usage. Basket muzzles allow the dog to pant and drink water freely and are acceptable for long time use. Occlusion muzzles shut the dog’s mouth completely and are only acceptable for short time use like grooming, veterinary, socialization, etc… in any circumstance where a dog might possible bite.
